Dick and Kaye got to experience the second full house of Canadian in three weeks at the end of March. This group tended to be a little more focused on fishing as opposed to Iguana wrestling, teaching the guides how to Indian wrestle, etc.

We were treated to almost perfect weather for the week. The only slip from perfection was about 3 hours of dead calm on Monday and a little cloud on Thursday. The cloud had little effect, with 5 Permit landed that day.

A good portion of our group had never caught a Permit and I’m pleased to report a number of “first Permit” during this week. One of our anglers not only caught his first Permit but also landed about a 40 pound Tarpon up on a flat.

A heartfelt Canadian style apology goes out to Dick and Kaye for the assorted broken dinnerware pieces due to Pierce “Oopsy” Clegg.

Last, but not least, as I had predicted, my wife Maureen became fast friends with Kaye. Now she can’t wait to get back for not only the Permit, but visit Kaye. It will no doubt be an expensive introduction to PC and Kaye with many more trips to come.

Thanks again to the world’s #1 Permit Lodge, Dick, Kaye, and all the rest of the gang!

See you again in 3 weeks…….
