Our new best friend in the great white north Mike Gifford of Country Pleasures Fly shop in Calgary Alberta, sent down his first of 3 groups of the season and what a spirited crew they turned out to be. Fishing was a bit on the difficult side but that didn’t detour this crew from their goal of having a great time. With hi percentage of first time fly-rodders the Palometa were given a short reprieve while the boys helped our new Canadian friends with their casting and many bones. In return the guides hard work they imparted such wisdom as how to shot gun beers, the art of Indian leg wrestling and iguana wrestling.

Team “Young Balls” ended the week as the points leader over team “Old Balls” even though the senior team’s experience was vastly superior. The tipping of the scale came on the final day when Mike Shea and Jason Hemsing landed a permit each. This was a fun loving crew that pegged the Fun-o-Meter their entire stay. Hope to see you all again soon!
