How much is Private Fly Casting Lessons, and how long does it run?
Length: 30 or 60 min. Students: 1 to 3. Levels: Beginner to advanced. From: $50.
How much is Fly Fishing 101, and how long does it run?
Length: 2.5 Hours. Starts: 8:30 AM. Class size: 12 spots. From: $150.
What is included in Fly Fishing 101?
You do not need to own anything. All rods and reels provided. A Tailwaters hat to keep. A fly box to keep. A basic tool kit to keep. Bring your own rod if you prefer.
What should I know before booking Fly Fishing 101?
No experience needed. This is the class for people who have never held a fly rod. If you can already cast forty feet, Advanced Casting is the better morning. The add-on is optional. Casting and rigging is $150. The classroom hour straight after is $50 more, and is worth it if you plan to fish on your own. Twelve spots per class. Small enough that you get looked at individually, and the reason these fill.
How much is Fly Fishing 201, and how long does it run?
Length: Half day. Meet: 7:00 AM. Class size: 6 students. Cost: $350.
What is included in Fly Fishing 201?
Forty-five minutes out, everything laid on. Breakfast tacos and coffee. Rods and reels provided. All fishing from boats, guided by Tailwaters staff. Access to Private Water Fishing ponds. Class capped at 6 students.
What should I know before booking Fly Fishing 201?
Not an intro class. Students should be familiar with basic casting before the morning on the water. Comfortable footwear that can get dirty. Students should wear comfortable footwear that can get dirty. All the fishing is from boats. A hat, sunglasses and maybe a rain jacket. Polarized glasses are genuinely useful for spotting fish in the ponds, and spring mornings can turn wet. Rods and reels, only if you want. Rods can be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own so you get familiar with your own equipment. Our instructors will gladly help you set it up.
How much is Advanced Casting Class, and how long does it run?
Length: 2 Hours. Starts: 8:30 AM. Where: Behind the store. Cost: $150.
What should I know before booking Advanced Casting Class?
You should already cast 40 feet. This is not a first lesson. You need to be comfortable with basic technique before the drills make any sense. Bring a 6–8 weight and a 9ft leader. Your own rod, so what you learn transfers to the water you actually fish. A hat and sunglasses. Two hours of moving line at head height. Both are required, not suggested.
