What you'll learn
Everything, then a fish.
Breakfast and knots to start, a casting lesson second, and then the rest of the morning putting it to use on water that holds fish. All fishing is from boats, guided by Tailwaters staff.

What do I need?
Not an intro class
Students should be familiar with basic casting before the morning on the water.
New to it? Start at 101 →Comfortable footwear that can get dirty
Students should wear comfortable footwear that can get dirty. All the fishing is from boats.
A hat, sunglasses and maybe a rain jacket
Polarized glasses are genuinely useful for spotting fish in the ponds, and spring mornings can turn wet.
Shop sunglasses →Rods and reels, only if you want
Rods can be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own so you get familiar with your own equipment. Our instructors will gladly help you set it up.

Forty-five minutes out, everything laid on.

Who teaches it
Most of the people behind the counter teach these classes. They guide, they fish this water on their days off, and they know where beginners get stuck.
