RIO Products Powerflex Wire Bite Tippet

The useful choice here is strength and spool length. Powerflex Wire Bite Tippet is a nylon-coated wire bite tippet from RIO Products, meant for fishing sharp-toothed species that will cut standard mono or fluoro. RIO describes it as tough and flexible, with a coating that makes it easy to tie knots in.

We stock it in 20, 30, and 40 pound. Step up in strength when you’re throwing larger flies or leaning harder on fish; stay lighter when you want a bit more finesse in the wire. Pick 15 feet for a few leaders, or 50 feet if you go through bite tippet regularly. Suitable for pike, musky, barracuda, and bluefish.
