This is the “Beast Hook” option in Umpqua’s lineup, aimed at big-fish applications where a lighter hook can open up or fail.
In the sizes we stock—#3/0 through #5/0—you’re in true heavy hardware territory. Move up in size when the fly gets bulkier and you want more gap and more steel. If you’re tying smaller baitfish or need a finer-wire hook for easier penetration, this isn’t the right series.
