Tarpon-focused hook in Umpqua’s XS415H pattern. The size we stock is #2/0, a straight-eye, wide-gape design with an X-Heavy wire and a forged bend for holding power under load. It’s finished in Umpqua’s BN5X and uses a micro-barb for a little easier penetration and cleaner releases than a full barb.
Within the XS415H family, the changes are mainly sizing, running from 3/0 down through smaller sizes. If you’re tying larger tarpon flies and want a heavy hook that resists opening up, this one fits that job.
