What it is
Hareline UV Polar Chenille is a UV polar chenille built on a twisted rope core with thin mylar strands worked through it. On the hook it gives you a lot of bulk without much weight, with long fibers that breathe and sweep in the water. It’s flashy, durable, and one of those materials you can wrap and be done with.
What to tie with it
Wrap it as a fast body on buggers, leeches, wet flies, and shrimp patterns, or use it anywhere you’d normally reach for a hackle or dubbing brush to build movement. You can stroke the fibers back as you wrap to keep the body clean, then pick it out to increase the halo. It also works well as a supporting underbody to help hold up soft wings and keep the profile full.

A Woolly Bugger tied with UV Polar Chenille makes a big, lively streamer for trout in rivers and lakes, and it crosses over well to smallmouth in moving water when you want a durable, quick-tied bugger body. Galloup’s Bangtail T&A is a trout streamer meant to get down and move water in rivers, especially when you’re hunting larger fish with a bigger meal. Compared to Hareline Cactus Chenille, UV Polar Chenille has longer, more flowing fibers, while Cactus Chenille runs shorter and denser. If you want a sleeker, tighter-bodied wrap you lean cactus; if you want more sweep and “breath” per wrap, this polar style is the pick.
