What it is

Hareline 3D Holographic Eyes are adhesive-backed eyes with a raised 3D profile and a holographic, light-reflective finish. On the fly they give you a realistic baitfish-eye look and a little built-in flash right at the head.

What to tie with it

These are for baitfish eyes on streamers and saltwater patterns, stuck directly to the head after you’ve built your thread base and shaped the head. Most tyers press them on, then lock them in with a clear topcoat so they stay put through fish and rocks.

Flies and the fish they're for

They’re a natural fit on classics like Lefty’s Deceiver, a go-to for striped bass in the surf and rips, and also for redfish and other inshore predators. On Ray’s Fly and Flatwings, the 3D eye profile helps sell the long, slim baitfish silhouette those patterns are known for, whether you’re chasing stripers along the beaches or big fish around bait schools. Any baitfish streamer you’re fishing for predators like stripers or redfish benefits from having a convincing, reflective eye at the focal point of the fly.

How it compares

Compared to flat, sticker-style Hareline adhesive eyes, these add a more dimensional 3D profile while still being quick to apply thanks to the adhesive backing. The holographic finish also gives a more light-reflective look than a plain, non-holographic adhesive eye.
