What it is

Hareline Adhesive Eyes are adhesive-backed, flat fly-tying eyes you peel and stick onto a fly. The flat profile keeps them from adding head weight, and once they’re in place you can coat them with UV resin to lock them down and smooth the head.

What to tie with it

Use them anywhere you want clean, consistent eyes on a finished head: on streamer heads, poppers, and Surf Candy-style builds. Most tyers will stick them on after shaping the head, then seal them under UV resin; for some synthetic heads like EP fibers or craft fur, many tyers also reinforce the bond with a glue like E6000, Zap-A-Goo, or a gel super glue before coating.

Flies and the fish they're for

These are a natural fit for the Surf Candy, where the eyes go on early and the whole head gets finished with UV resin for a durable baitfish profile. Surf Candies are a go-to saltwater baitfish imitation for species like false albacore, bonito, striped bass, and bluefish in the surf, inlets, and along beaches, and they also cross over to freshwater for schooling predators when they’re keyed on small bait.

How it compares

Compared with Hareline 3D Adhesive Holographic Eyes, these are flat rather than dome-shaped 3D, so they keep the head slimmer and don’t build the same rounded eye profile.
