What it is
Hareline EZ Magic Dub is a chenille-style dubbing substitute meant to give you a dubbed look with the handling of a wrap-on material. It’s designed to be easy to manage at the vise while still building a buggy, dubbed-body effect when you wrap it on.
What to tie with it
Use it anywhere you’d normally dub a body, especially on wet flies and dry flies where you want quick, consistent coverage. You tie it like a chenille by wrapping it up the shank, or you can blend it into your body work when you want a little extra texture or sparkle in the dubbing profile.
Flies and the fish they're for
It shows up in simple trout catchers like the Palomino Midge, a go-to small-fly option for trout on tailwaters and spring creeks when midges are a main food source. It also fits naturally on Caddis Larva patterns, which are standard nymphs for trout in rivers and freestones wherever caddis are present. Both patterns lean on that “dubbed body” silhouette, but with the convenience of a wrap-on material for fast tying.
