What it is
The Hareline Fish Skull Bandito Sculpin Head is a sculpin-style streamer head you slide onto the hook to give your fly a broad, flat profile up front. It’s built with a weighted keel so the fly wants to ride hook point up, which helps keep it oriented and a bit more snag-resistant. The construction is meant to hold up to repeated casting, fish teeth, and bouncing around the bottom.
What to tie with it
Use it as the head on sculpin and baitfish streamers, especially when you want a hook-up riding presentation for working close to rocks, wood, and the riverbed. It also fits well on tube flies as a dedicated tube fly head. At the bench it’s typically slid into position behind the eye and then locked in place as you build the front of the fly.
