What it is
Hareline Fluoro Fibre is a fine, straight synthetic fiber that stays slim on the hook and holds its shape instead of going limp. In the water it has an active little pulse, throws off a glowing look, and sheds water so the fly doesn’t bog down. It’s also tough, so it’s a good choice when you want a pattern to keep fishing after a few fish.
What to tie with it
Use it like you would other fine synthetics for streamer wings and tails, and it’s also handy as an added durability layer in a wing. You can wind it for nymph, emerger, and midge bodies to get a clean segmented look, and it works well for wingcases and tailing shucks on nymphs and emergers. Because it stays straight, it’s also a solid material for dry-fly wings, and you can even pull a few strands as gills or a lateral line on baitfish patterns.

For tiny stuff like the Jujubee Midge, winding it into a slim body and using it for little shuck/wingcase details fits right into tailwater trout fishing. Compared with Antron Yarn, Fluoro Fibre stays straighter, which matters on streamers where Antron can collapse. Both are fine synthetics, but Antron is more often seen as a nymph/emerger tail material or a parachute post, while Fluoro Fibre leans into straight wings, tails, and wound bodies.
