What it is

Hareline Grizzly Barred Rubber Legs are barred, round rubber legs for adding motion to a fly. The round profile stays “leggy” instead of going flat, and the rubber is durable with bold barring that reads like segmentation in the water.

What to tie with it

Tie it in as legs on terrestrials and large nymphs, or as antennae on nymphs where you want a little extra life. It also works as moving appendages on streamers and on saltwater crustacean patterns; you can thread single strands through bodies, fold it for doubled legs, or tie it in at the thorax and sweep it back.

Flies and the fish they're for

On hopper-style foam dries like Pink Pookie Hoppers, these legs help sell the kick and twitch that gets eaten by trout on rivers and bankside grass lines. Worked into stonefly nymphs and rubber-leg stone patterns, they’re a staple for trout in freestone rivers when stoneflies are present. They also show up as “speckled/segmented” legs on big attractor dries like the Stimulator, which is commonly fished for trout as a high-floating searching pattern.

How it compares

Compared with Hareline Round Rubber Legs, the composition and round profile are similar, but these add the barred effect for a more segmented look.
