What it is
Hareline Grizzly Krystal Flash is a flash material made from a single twisted fiber strand that blends multiple tones in one strand. That twist gives it a scale-like look, and it throws light hard when it’s moving or when you shift the fly in the current.
What to tie with it
Use it anywhere you want flash without adding bulk: as a few strands in streamer wings, as a tail accent, or as a slim wrap for nymph bodies. It also works well for leech patterns, and as wing material on terrestrials when you want a little shine but still want the fly to stay neat on the hook.
Flies and the fish they're for
You can build simple soft hackles with Krystal Flash for the body and partridge for the hackle, then fish them for trout in rivers and tailwaters as swung wets or on the end of a nymph rig. It also shows up in Krystal Flash baitfish-style streamers, a common choice for trout and smallmouth in rivers and for stripers in moving water when you need a small, flashy bait profile.
