What it is
Hareline Grizzly Marabou is mini grizzly-barred marabou feathers made from natural marabou. On the hook it stays soft and collapses and breathes with each strip or swing, giving a lifelike swimming motion in the water along with a realistic barred look.
What to tie with it
Use it for streamer tails and wings by tying in a small bunch and letting it flow behind the hook, or for nymph tails and gills where you want soft movement. It also works well wrapped or palmered for collars and bodies, and it’s a common choice for shrimp bodies and bonefish fly bodies when you want that pulsing, living profile.
Flies and the fish they're for
Micro Woolybuggers tied with grizzly marabou are fished for trout in rivers and stillwaters, and they also cross over to panfish and smallmouth in ponds and creeks when you fish them with short strips. The same marabou movement that makes a Woolybugger swim is what helps shrimp-style and bonefish-body patterns look alive on flats for bonefish.
How it compares
Compared with Whiting Chickabou Patch Feathers, it’s a similar size marabou option, but with fewer grizzly-barred color options.
