Hareline Ice Dub II Dispenser

What it is

Ice Dub II in the dispenser is a selection of synthetic dubbing kept in a tidy, tangle-free box. The fibers are translucent and light reflective, so a dubbed body picks up a shimmery look in the water without feeling bulky, and the material is durable and easy to work with at the bench.

What to tie with it

Use it anywhere you’d dub a body: nymph abdomens and thoraxes, streamer shoulders, and saltwater baitfish bodies. It shines in a dubbing loop where you can spin a dense noodle and then brush it out for extra movement, but you can also hand-dub it straight onto thread for smaller bodies and hot spots.

Flies and the fish they're for

This one shows up most in “Ice Dub” style nymphs and attractor nymphs where the reflective, translucent body helps the fly stand out for trout in rivers and tailwaters. The same dubbing-loop-and-brush approach crosses over well to baitfish and streamer patterns for smallmouth in rivers and reservoirs, and for inshore saltwater species like redfish and speckled trout when you want a flashy, durable body. It also fits right into general purpose hot-spot builds where you’re trying to give a pattern just a little more visibility in stained water or low light.
