Hareline Kona Bc3 Curved Nymph Caddis Czech Barbless Hooks 30 Pack
$10.90 USD
Size: #10
What it is
This is a curved-shank, barbless nymph hook built on high-carbon steel with a black-nickel finish. The point is made to grab fast, and the stout wire and 1x gap give you room for slim bodies that still hold fish well.
What to tie with it
Use it when you want a natural bend in the shank for caddis larvae and pupae, mayfly emergers, sowbugs, shrimp, eggs, and other “curved” subsurface bugs. It’s a go-to shape for Czech-style nymphing and other competition-style patterns where you’re tying sparse, tight bodies and want quick penetration on the take.
Flies and the fish they're for
This hook style is a natural fit for Czech nymphs and curved caddis patterns fished for trout in rivers, especially pocket water, seams, and riffles where contact nymphing shines. It also crosses over to small curved wet flies and midge-sized nymphs for trout in tailwaters and spring creeks, and it’s at home under an indicator or on a tight-line rig. In the bigger sizes it can double for panfish and bass on small curved nymph and egg-style patterns in lakes and ponds, but its main lane is still river trout.
How it compares
Compared to a Tiemco TMC 2487BL, this hook uses a non-straight eye and a black-nickel finish rather than bronze. If you like the 2487BL shape but want a different eye style and finish, this is that same general niche.
