Hareline Kona Xss Xtra Strong Stinger Hooks 25 Pack

What it is

Hareline Kona XSS Xtra Strong Stinger Hooks are a stinger-style fly-tying hook built from high-carbon steel with a black-nickel, corrosion-resistant finish. They’re 2X strong with an ultra-sharp point, a wide gap, a barbed design, and a straight eye to keep heavy streamer rigs tracking clean and holding fish.

What to tie with it

Use them for streamers and hair bugs where you want a wide bite and extra strength, especially on bigger profiles. They also shine in stinger hook rigs, either as the main hook in a short-shank build or as the trailing hook when you’re tying articulated or rear-hooked patterns.

Flies and the fish they're for

This hook is right at home in large, stinger-style streamer builds that get eaten by hard-pulling fish, including tarpon in saltwater and other big game species that demand a 2X-strong hook. In freshwater, it’s a solid choice for big streamer fishing for species like largemouth bass and pike where wide gaps and sticky points help on bulky materials and aggressive eats. It also fits the kind of rear-hooked or stinger-rigged streamer setups commonly fished for trout when you’re targeting larger fish with longer flies and want hookups on short strikes.
