What it is

Hareline Liquid Fusion is a clear urethane adhesive for fly tying. It dries with a crystal-clear finish and makes a waterproof bond, without foaming or expanding as it cures. It’s non-toxic, low odor, and can be thinned with water when you want it to flow or level differently.

What to tie with it

Use it like a brush-on “hardener” for coating heads, bodies, and eyes, and for locking down wingcases and shellbacks. It’s made for clean, epoxy-style builds where you want clarity and a smooth finish, but without mixing. It also works well when you need a glue that sets up fairly quickly and stays neat on the bench.

Flies and the fish they're for

On baitfish patterns with glued-on eyes, Liquid Fusion helps keep the eyes sealed and realistic-looking, which is the kind of durability you want for Clouser-style and other baitfish streamers fished for smallmouth, striped bass, and redfish. It’s also been used for Surf Candy and Mikkelsen-style baitfish, the kind of translucent minnow flies commonly tied for false albacore, bonito, striped bass, and other saltwater predators. For stillwater and tailwater midges, it can be used to coat the body of a Chironomid, a staple pattern for trout and panfish.

How it compares

It’s meant to give an epoxy-like look and cure without mixing, with less odor and less mess than epoxy-style systems. Compared to more traditional urethane glues, it’s positioned as a cleaner, clearer, non-foaming option for the same kinds of coating jobs.
