What it is
Hareline Magnum Predator Legs are oversized rubber legs for flies where you want a lot of motion. The rubber is durable and easy to handle at the vise, and that big profile kicks hard in the water. They’re built for high action and a large silhouette.
What to tie with it
Use them as legs on large frog flies and big poppers, and as long, mobile appendages to give streamers extra movement. Tie them in as paired legs through the body, as side legs on foam or deer-hair heads, or as trailer legs behind an articulated section. They work in both freshwater and saltwater patterns when you need a loud, leggy look.
Flies and the fish they're for
These are a natural fit on a Jigged Girdle Bug, a rubber-legged jig style fly that’s commonly fished for bass in rivers, ponds, and lakes. They also show up in the Poor Man’s Whistler, a big predator fly typically aimed at pike and other large freshwater hunters. For panfish, they’re right at home on Predator, a variation of Skip Morris’s Panfish Fly that’s fished for bluegill and other sunfish in warmwater ponds and lake edges.
How it compares
Compared with Chicone’s Barred Crusher Legs in the wide size, Crusher Legs have a wider construction and a barred pattern. Magnum Predator Legs focus on oversized, high-action rubber legs without that wider barred build.
