What it is
Hareline Mirage Flashabou is a bundle of color-shifting flash tinsel strands used to add hard, iridescent shine to a fly. The fibers are holographic and highly reflective, so they throw different flashes as the fly moves and turns. It’s built to hold up, so it stays fishable after a lot of casts and a lot of teeth.
What to tie with it
Use it as flash accents mixed into wings and tails, or tie it in as a full wing or tail on baitfish patterns when you want a strong, reflective trigger. It also works well as body material by wrapping it like tinsel or layering it along the shank, and it’s common to blend a few strands into predator streamers, salmon flies, nymphs, and even jig-style flies for added attraction.
