Use it for dubbed bodies on scud and sowbug imitations, especially when you want a little flash and mottled segmentation. It’s also a good choice for freshwater crustacean imitations in general, whether you’re noodle-dubbing a thin body or building a slightly rougher, buggy profile for Czech-style nymphs.

This dubbing shows up in Rainbow Scud patterns, which are fished anywhere scuds are present for trout in rivers and spring creeks and also in lakes where scuds are a staple. It’s also commonly used in Rainbow Warrior-style nymphs, a go-to trout fly for tailwaters and freestone rivers when you need a flashy attractor that still reads as “food.”
