Hareline Renzetti Dubbing Twister Teaser
$22.30 USD
What it is
Hareline’s Renzetti Dubbing Twister Teaser is a dubbing twister with a built-in teaser for working dubbing loops at the vise. You use the twister end to spin and rope a loop tight, then use the teaser end to pick out and rough up the fibers once the loop is wrapped.
What to tie with it
It’s made for spinning dubbing loops and building dubbing brushes, especially when you want a loop that’s both tight and easy to control. After you wrap the loop, the teaser lets you pull fibers out to make legs, add “halo,” and open up the material for a fuzzier profile on the hook.
Flies and the fish they're for
This tool shows up any time you’re tying loop-dubbed bodies and collars on caddis patterns and dry flies, where picked-out dubbing helps suggest trapped air and buggy texture for trout on rivers and spring creeks. The same loop-and-tease workflow is also common on nymphs and small streamers where you want a shaggy thorax or collar that moves and breathes for trout and panfish in moving water.
How it compares
Compared with Griffin’s Dubbing Twister, this is still a straightforward dubbing twister, but it adds the two-in-one bodkin-style teaser so you can spin the loop and then pick it out without switching tools.
