What it is
Hareline Round Rubber is a sheet of round rubber leg material that you peel off in individual strands. The round profile gives you that classic rubber-leg silhouette, and once it’s tied in it tends to kick out and stand off the body instead of laying flat.
What to tie with it
Use it for legs on hopper patterns, large dry flies, and nymphs where you want obvious, buggy legs. You can also tie it in as part of a wing or tail to add movement, and a simple overhand knot in a strand is a common trick to create a “knee” and help the leg hold its shape and position.

Pat’s Rubber Legs is built around rubber legs and is a go-to stonefly/attractor nymph for trout in rivers, especially as a big lead or as a dropper under a dry. Morrish Hopper uses rubber legs to sell the terrestrial look and gets eaten by trout during hopper season on freestones and meadow rivers. Merkin Crab uses rubber legs for crabby leg action and is fished for bonefish on shallow flats.
How it compares
Compared to Spirit River Flex Floss, Round Rubber is round rubber rather than flat silicone, so it gives more stand-off from the body and that “X-leg” look. Flex Floss has better tooth resistance and won’t rot in the fly box.
