What it is

Hareline Senyo Fusion Fibers is a synthetic fly-tying fiber blend made from a mix of clear and colored strands. At the bench it feels soft and wispy, and on the hook it builds a semi-translucent, pearlescent look with some flash. In the water it flows and breathes, so it keeps moving even on a slow swing or a short strip.

What to tie with it

Use it as a wing material on streamers when you want length, taper, and movement without a bulky clump. It also works well spun in a dubbing loop to make a fuzzy, lively collar or shoulder on larger patterns, or blended into composite loops for more texture and flash. Because it’s synthetic, you can tie it in sparse and let the fibers do the work.

Flies and the fish they're for

Fusion Fibers is a natural fit anywhere you’d use a long, flowing synthetic wing for a baitfish profile, so it shows up in modern trout streamer work for brown trout and rainbow trout in rivers and tailwaters. It also crosses over cleanly into anadromous patterns where that extra movement and durability matter, like steelhead and salmon flies swung on bigger flows. If you’re building larger profiles with dubbing loops for predator fish, it’s right at home in those trout, steelhead, and salmon applications.

How it compares

Compared with other fly-tying materials, it’s noted as being more durable, and it’s available in a wider color selection.
