What it is

Senyo’s Aqua Veil is a synthetic veiling chenille with a lightweight build and a thin, non-bulky profile on the hook. It’s flashy with a subtle shimmer, and it swims with good movement, so it adds life without building a big, heavy rope of material.

What to tie with it

Use it for bodies and collars, or palmer it like a hackle to create a moving, shimmering “flash hackle” effect. It’s right at home on streamers, intruders, and tube flies where you want motion and flash without adding bulk.

Flies and the fish they're for

Aqua Veil shows up as the body material on full-bodied streamer patterns, including versions tied specifically for Alaskan rainbow trout in big rivers where trout are keyed on baitfish and flesh. In the anadromous world, it’s commonly worked as a palmered collar or hackle on steelhead and salmon patterns, including intruder-style flies and tubes swung or stripped in Pacific Northwest-style steelhead rivers and Alaska salmon water. It’s a natural fit anywhere you want that mobile, shimmering halo around the fly to help fish find it in current.
