What it is

Senyo’s Fusion Dub is a fly-tying dubbing made from a blend of Trilobal fibers and Ice Dub fibers. It’s translucent with subtle flash, so it throws light without looking like tinsel, and the textured mix builds a buggy profile. The fibers are durable and light reflective, which helps the body read in moving water and keeps it fishing after a few fish.

What to tie with it

Use it like a standard dubbing for bodies on wet flies and streamers, or spin it in a dubbing loop when you want more texture and a fuller silhouette. It’s right at home on intruder bodies and leech bodies, and it also works for bugger-style bodies where you want a little sheen under or between wraps. Because it can be dubbed fine, you can keep it tight for small, slim bodies or rough it up for a fuzzier look.

Flies and the fish they're for

This material shows up a lot in intruder and leech-style steelhead and salmon flies, where that translucent, slightly flashy body helps the fly stand out in fast runs and tailouts. Tied as a Bugger-style body, it fits trout and smallmouth bass fishing in rivers and lakes, especially when you’re imitating leeches and general baitfish. Dubbed sparse for chironomid bodies, it’s a good match for stillwater trout when midges are the main food. It also gets used to build sculpin-style heads and small fry/minnow profiles for trout and smallmouth in moving water where short, bulky streamers do the work.
