What it is
Senyo’s Predator Wrap is a synthetic chenille wrap built from a mix of long UV fibers and micro-barred fibers. Wrapped on the shank it gives you a consistent, durable body with built-in flash. In the water those fibers pulse and breathe, and the UV reflectivity shows up especially well on moving streamers.
What to tie with it
Use it for streamer bodies, collars, and shoulders by wrapping it forward like chenille and tying it off, or by palmering it to build a full, shaggy profile. It also works well as a palmered collar to add a lot of movement without adding much complexity at the vise. You can pick it out after wrapping for even more bulk and a softer, breathing edge.
Flies and the fish they're for
Predator Wrap shows up in Greg Senyo’s Predator Scandi, a big-profile streamer typically thrown for aggressive predators like pike and musky in lakes and rivers, and also for trophy browns where big baitfish and leeches are on the menu. It’s also used in Senyo’s Freckled Predator and the Wiggle Stone, both in that same predator-streamer lane for pike, musky, and large trout depending on where you’re fishing them. There’s also tying talk around a laid-up tarpon pattern that uses Predator Wrap to help control sink rate and keep a fly moving and breathing slowly in front of resting fish in the salt.
How it compares
Compared with traditional feathers, Predator Wrap stays more consistent from wrap to wrap and holds up better over time, especially when you’re fishing it hard on toothy or abrasive mouths.
