Hareline Sierra Stream & Mountain Tie-Fast Combo Tool

What it is

The Hareline Sierra Stream & Mountain Tie-Fast Combo Tool is a fishing knot-tying combo tool made from stainless steel. It’s built to be durable, with heavy-duty cutting for trimming line and a built-in hook-point sharpener so you can touch up a point right on the water.

What to tie with it

At the bench or riverside, you’ll use it to tie knots quickly, clip tags cleanly, and clear out hook eyes before you thread tippet. The D-ring attachment point lets you keep it clipped where you can grab it fast when you’re swapping flies or re-rigging.

Flies and the fish they're for

This tool isn’t a fly-tying material that shows up in specific patterns, but it supports the flies you fish by helping you tie on leaders and flies efficiently and keep hook points sharp. That matters whether you’re rotating through trout flies on freestone streams and tailwaters, or changing streamers and saltwater patterns where heavier butt sections and fly lines are common. It’s especially handy when you’re forming a loop in the end of a fly line or tying the butt section directly to the fly line, and when you’re dealing with thicker, stiffer material that’s harder to cinch by hand.
