What it is
This is a foam body cutter tool made to cut consistent foam shapes for topwater bugs. It’s designed around the Stealth Bomber style body so you can punch out repeatable diver/slider bodies instead of trimming each one by hand.
What to tie with it
Use it at the bench to cut foam fly bodies before you ever start the thread work. It’s for building the foam back and head shape of Stealth Bomber foam bodies, then you tie the cut piece down on the shank and finish the fly like any other foam diver.
Flies and the fish they're for
The pattern tied around this cutter is the Stealth Bomber, a foam diver/slider that’s stripped to make a diving push and bubble trail. Fished on rivers and stillwaters, it’s a go-to topwater fly for smallmouth bass, and it also gets eaten by largemouth in ponds and lakes when they’re looking up.
How it compares
Compared to hand-cut foam pieces, the cutter is faster and more accurate, especially when you’re tying a batch and want every body to match.
