What it is
Hareline Steve Farrar SF Blend is a UV-enhanced synthetic blend built for tying baitfish-style streamers. It’s made from Slinky Fiber and Slinky Blend mixed with fine mylar flash, so it has a natural texture with realistic movement in the water. The fibers come pre-tapered at about 10 inches long, shed water, stay lightweight, and keep their shape whether you fish them wet or let them dry.
What to tie with it
Use it to build baitfish imitations and other streamlined, baitfish-style profiles where you want bulk without weight. At the vise it’s commonly stacked and layered for backs and bellies, then trimmed to shape; it also works well palmered or blended into shoulders when you want a little flash without going to a hard tinsel look. Because it’s durable and water-shedding, it fits everything from smaller freshwater streamers up through big musky and saltwater patterns.
