Hareline Stonfo Elite Rotodubbing Twister

What it is

The Hareline Stonfo Elite Rotodubbing Twister is a rotodubbing twister tool for spinning dubbing loops at the vise. It rotates smoothly for consistent twist, with durable construction and an ergonomic grip so you can spin tight, even ropes without fighting the tool.

What to tie with it

Use it to build dubbing loops and twist up dubbing brushes for bodies and collars, then wrap them like a chenille. It’s also a clean way to spin and control soft fibers in a loop when you want a tight, ropey noodle or a lightly twisted, buggy loop for more movement.

Flies and the fish they're for

Even though this tool isn’t tied into one specific pattern, it’s a workhorse for loop-bodied nymphs and streamers where you want a durable, textured body or collar that holds up over lots of fish. Tight, spun loops and brushes are common in trout nymphs and wet flies for rivers, and the same technique scales up to larger streamer collars for trout, smallmouth, and stripers in moving water and stillwater. It’s also a go-to technique for controlling softer materials in a loop when you’re building airy, mobile profiles for trout flies.
