What it is
Hareline Tiger Barred Rabbit Strips are rabbit fur zonker strips: fur left on a narrow strip of hide. In the water the fur breathes and swims with very little movement from your hand, giving that natural rabbit pulse that makes baitfish and leech profiles come alive.
What to tie with it
Use it for streamer tails and backs, or wrap it to build full, mobile bodies on zonker-style patterns and articulated streamers. It also makes convincing claws for crab, lobster, and crayfish flies, and you can strip the fur off the hide to use the fur as dubbing or to spin/stack it into collars.
Flies and the fish they're for
The Double Bunny Zonker Minnow is a classic rabbit-strip streamer, fished as a baitfish imitation for trout and smallmouth in rivers and stillwaters. It also crosses over well anywhere you’re swinging or stripping bigger meals, including tailwater browns and lake fish that key on leeches and minnows.
How it compares
Compared with Hareline Rabbit Fur Strips (regular rabbit strips), it’s the same rabbit-on-hide material but without the tiger barred pattern, giving a more subtle look. If you want the same movement with a quieter visual, the regular strips are the straightforward swap.
