What it is
Hareline Veevus Body Quill is a flash body quill material used to build thin, bright bodies on the hook. It’s crinkly and flashy, so it adds texture and light without forcing you into a bulky profile.
What to tie with it
Use it for slim nymph bodies, euro nymph bodies, and midge patterns by wrapping it as the main body material. It also works well as ribbing on both nymphs and dry flies when you want a little flash and segmentation without adding much diameter.
Flies and the fish they're for
Perdigons are a natural fit for Body Quill, where it helps you keep the body thin and flashy for fast-sinking, tight-line presentations. Fish Perdigons for trout in rivers and tailwaters, especially when you need a compact nymph that cuts through current and gets down quickly.
How it compares
It has a similar appearance and feel to Fine Krystal Flash, but it’s packaged as a body quill style material rather than loose flash. Compared to Veevus Holographic Tinsel, it’s more at home on small, thin Perdigon-style bodies than on smooth, flat streamer bodies, and it’s offered in one size rather than multiple sizes.
