What it is

Hareline Veevus Floss is a fly-tying body floss made from a single strand of synthetic material. It lays down smooth and flat on the hook, builds cleanly without lumping up, and it has a translucent look when wrapped. It’s durable, so it holds up well when you’re ribbing over it or fishing patterns that see a lot of grabs.

What to tie with it

Use it anywhere you want a slim, controlled body: wrap it as a straight floss body, counter-wrap it over an underbody, or spin the bobbin to cord it up for segmented builds. It’s at home on both hook flies and tube flies, especially when you’re tying the long, even bodies found in classic salmon, sea trout, and other traditional dressings.

Flies and the fish they're for

This floss is built for the kinds of classic salmon patterns that are traditionally swung for Atlantic salmon in rivers, and it also fits right into classic sea trout patterns fished for sea-run brown trout in coastal rivers and estuaries. It’s also a practical choice on tube versions of those same styles when you want a durable, smooth body that won’t get chewed up after a few fish.
