Hareline Web Wing is a synthetic winging material built to mimic the look of a natural, veined insect wing. It has a mottled, hyper-realistic appearance, stays durable in use, and it’s easy to cut cleanly to shape at the bench.
What to tie with it
Use it anywhere you want a crisp, upright or tent-style wing without fussing with fragile natural materials. It’s right at home as hopper wings, stonefly wings, and mayfly spinner wings; most tyers cut a wing blank to shape and tie it in as a single piece or as paired wings.
Flies and the fish they're for
Cut to a mayfly spinner profile, this material fits spinner-style dry flies fished to selective trout on rivers and spring creeks where a flat, clear wing silhouette matters. In a hopper profile, it’s for buoyant terrestrial dries aimed at trout in freestones and meadow streams, and it also crosses over to panfish that eat hoppers along banks. In a stonefly profile, it’s a natural fit for big stonefly dry patterns and fish it for trout in faster western-style rivers where stoneflies are a key meal.

Compared with D’s Flyes Web Wing, Hareline’s mottled look gives you that broken, natural wing effect, while the regular D’s version is better when you want a solid, uniform wing.
