What it is
Wigglefin Action Discs are an action-disc fishing tackle accessory you rig in front of a fly or bait to make it move. In the water they generate vibration and a chaotic, erratic swimming action without any mechanical parts, and they’re built to hold up to fishing.
What to tie with it
You don’t tie this into the fly as much as you rig it on the leader ahead of the fly, using it like a motion-and-vibration “driver” for the presentation. It’s meant to add action to flies as well as to soft baits and natural baits, and it fits right into casting, jigging, and trolling approaches.
Flies and the fish they're for
These get used to give fly patterns more movement, especially when you’re fishing flies like you would a lure in moving water or over structure. They make sense anywhere an erratic, baitlike track helps you get eaten, including freshwater species like bass and inshore saltwater fish like redfish and striped bass when you’re swinging, stripping, or trolling flies with a little extra kick.
How it compares
Compared to mechanical alternatives, the action here is non-mechanical, coming from chaotic motion and vibration rather than moving parts.
