What it is

What to tie with it

Use it to pull rubber legs cleanly through foam bodies when you’re building poppers and sliders, or anytime you need to insert legs into soft materials without tearing them up. You can also use the needle for stitching jobs like leather or hide work when you want that same controlled, durable point.

Flies and the fish they're for

It shows up on foam-topwater patterns like the Extra-Small Double Barrel popper, where rubber legs add movement even when the fly is sitting still. Fish that style of popper for bass in ponds and lakes, and for panfish like bluegill around shallow cover. On rivers, smallmouth will track a small foam popper that’s been legged properly, especially along banks and over rocky runs.
