What it is
The Loon Vise Pawn is a compact, lightweight material holder that sits at your vise and uses magnetic holding to keep loose tying materials controlled. It has a powder-coated handle so you can grab it and move it around the hook without fussing. On the hook, it’s basically a third hand for parking tag ends and long fibers so they don’t wander into your wraps.
What to tie with it
Use it anytime you need to hold feathers, hackle, tinsel, wire, flash, or chenille out of the way while you tie in the next material or finish a section cleanly. It’s handy for managing ribbing while you build bodies, keeping long hackle stems from getting trapped, and controlling flash so it doesn’t get bound down where you don’t want it.
Flies and the fish they're for
On flashy baitfish patterns like the Party Favor, it helps keep UV flash and ribbing materials from twisting back into the tying zone while you build the body and head. Those shad-style streamers are commonly fished for species like smallmouth and largemouth bass in rivers and lakes, and also for stripers where they’re feeding on bait. Even on simpler streamers and nymphs, it’s doing the same job: keeping the “next problem material” pinned out of the way so the fly stays clean and durable.
