About
As many of our clients and friends know, The Palometa Club in Punta Allen, Mexico is a home away from home for our team here at Tailwaters. It is the quintessential old school Caribbean fishing lodge with a long history of offering a sincere guest experience in a charming little village with amazing guides and staff — and arguably one of the world’s greatest saltwater fisheries.
We are pleased to announce we will be hosting back to back weeks in August with the Fordyces at The Palometa Club. Rob will host/teach a saltwater fly fishing school the week of August 1-8, and Kaylee will be hosting an all ladies week, August 8-15, 2025. Both trips coincide with one of our favorite seasons for all species - including Ascension Bay’s migratory tarpon season.

Rob Fordyce Saltwater School | August 1-8, 2025
Captain Rob Fordyce is one of the most highly respected guides, tournament winners, instructors, and saltwater fly fishing ambassadors on the planet. In addition to guiding over 250 days a year in the Florida Keys for decades, Rob is the host of the popular Outdoor Channel series called “The Seahunter”. His saltwater fly fishing schools offer saltwater anglers of all skill levels a wonderful opportunity to improve skills and knowledge with one of the best teachers and charismatic personalities in the business.
In addition to spending a day in the boat with each angler duo, Rob will be presenting & teaching each evening to both guests and guides from his traditional saltwater school curriculum. Guests will learn a myriad of techniques including casting, rigging, stripping/hooking, fighting fish, gearing up, loads of Q&A, and more.

Kaylee Fordyce Ladies Hosted Week | August 8-15, 2025
Immediately following Rob’s saltwater school week, we are so happy to have his daughter Kaylee Fordyce return for another ladies only hosted trip. Kaylee is doing a beautiful job of following in dad’s footsteps as she now hosts her own show as the host of the Outdoor Channel & World Fishing Network series “Wild at Heart".
At 29, Kaylee Fordyce has already made a name for herself in the world of fishing and hunting as a skilled outdoor enthusiast, TV show host, and fishing tournament director. Growing up with a passion for the outdoors, Kaylee turned her love for hunting and fishing into a career that has taken her all over the world. Kaylee has become a regular visitor to the Palometa Club and is a guide and staff favorite. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a group of ladies during one of the best times of year to be on Ascension Bay!
