Los Locos

Los Locos Fishing is a high-energy, adventure-driven fly fishing operation based in the remote Pacific waters of Magdalena Bay. Built from a grassroots expedition in 2016, the program has evolved into one of the most unique and dynamic fisheries in the world—rooted in exploration, local partnerships, and a deep connection to the region. 

Magdalena Bay itself is a vast, protected lagoon system shielded from the Pacific by barrier islands, creating an incredibly diverse ecosystem of mangroves, beaches, offshore waters, and bait-rich channels. This diversity is the foundation of the fishery—allowing anglers to experience everything from technical inshore fishing to explosive offshore action within the same trip. 

What truly defines Los Locos is its focus on sight-based, high-adrenaline fishing. The marquee experience is targeting striped marlin on the fly—often casting to free-swimming fish or feeding bait balls in open water. This is widely considered one of the most visual and exhilarating saltwater fly fishing opportunities anywhere in the world. 

Inshore, anglers pursue roosterfish along beaches, as well as snook, snapper, and other species within mangrove-lined estuaries. The program is intentionally dynamic, with each day shaped by conditions, fish movement, and angler preference—ensuring a constantly evolving experience on the water.
